|

Ok, so here's the scenario:
i install UT, get it running. I set up video, and player options, then begin a practice session. here's the problem. my game speed is incredibly fast. Probably about 200% as fast as it should be. I know it isn't the game setting, because under game preferences i've got game speed turned down to 50%. I've tried looking for a fix on the forums and i've come across a few hints as to what it should be, but no direct fix.
here's a link to a similar post talking about what i'm assuming to be the same problem i don't know if this will help anyone?
https://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic.php?t=238338&highlight=fast+game+speed
I've also found a post for the similar problem in UT, and i've checked my GameSpeed value and it is set at 1.

Thanks,
-Matt
PS- sorry for posting for the wrong version of the game originally. _________________ "Society produces rogues, and education makes one rogue cleverer than another."

sorry I know my post here isn't going to be helpful and I'm purposefully going to sound like a complete n00b but I just have to do it. I intend no insult by this post I'm completely just screwing around.

<PFY voice>Wow! I wish my computer was that fast and I could say I have that problem. I have like this old POS computer from the dark ages (i.e. last week! gah!) and UT doesn't even run faster than 120FPS and I can still see frames dropping!!</PFY voice>

I am having the same problem with UT (the original one, not 2k3 or 2k4). When you get killed, there is a clock on the bottom of the screen, and you can watch the seconds go by and they go by a LOT faster: close to 2x speed... If anyone finds a solution, I'm interested... |

had the same weirdness.
the problem was speedfreq governour set to dynamic
changed this to performance (in /etc/conf.d/speedfreq)
kill speedfreqd and all was fine again.

PFY = Pimply Faced Youth. It comes from BOFH (Bastard Operator From Hell)
google for it. It's a good read ^_~
