hi,
has anbody successfuly installed the binary version of openoffice-ximian? i have a small notebook computer and cannot afford to do the from source install which works fine on my desktop.
the emerge goes through fine but when i try to launch any of the programs i get the following error message:
basically, the setup program is not able to run.

I have the openoffice-ximian-bin installed, which I installed after unmerging an earlier OOo-ximian source ebuild. I did not encounter any problems with it, however.

Don't know which thread I got this from now, but I got this error until I found something saying I had to do an
and it worked fine after that.
And one of the advantages of portage is supposed to be dependencies |

I just posted this to another thread but will do it here too.
The fix that worked for me was to re-emerge openssl. Someone suggested installing linc, which I already had so I re-emerged that one before doing openssl.
