nvidia and rivafb

ok...I've looked everywhere for how to do this, and there's a very limited amount of information. Using kernel 2.4.20 and I've enabled vga text console, video mode selection, framebuffer support, riva support, and vesa support in the kernel (not modules). When I try to use the rivafb in grub, it either boots into a blank screen or gives me the unaccellerated vesa. Hopefully someone can help me out here

Nvidia vs rivafb ;) rivafb works only as modules, and isn't compatible with nvidia drivers. If you want framebuufer works try vesafb ;)

I've been using vesa...but I want to compare it to rivafb since I'm using directfb. I think my problem lies in my grub.conf line. Anyone know the correct line for riva?

having rivafb and nvidia modules running together can really screw your system. I woudl recommend against it, but if you do want to use rivafb do a search for it on the forums, the correct line is in there somewhere...

OK...I AM aware of the possible incompatibility between rivafb and nvidia drivers. Not only that, but I HAVE searched the forums and tried all the advice given on how to enable it, but it doesn't appear to work properly on my system. Can somebody just tell me what the line for grub would be and if you need to do anything other than have rivafb compiled into your kernel?
