Ok, I'm pretty sure this has been answered, but I'm dumb and can't find anything...
I got Xinerama working on my computer last night, after at least a year of trying. Needless to say, I almost jumped up and screamed out in joy, but it was midnight, as well as a school night (don't you love when you get so caught up with the computer? :p). I had only one problem. The kicker is in my smaller monitor.
My setup is a Radeon 8500 (128 MB of RAM), a Dell (Sony) Trinitron 19" flat CRT and 17" flat CRT (same monitors, one is just one size bigger than the other). The 19" can run at slightly high resolutions and frequencies, so I would like that to be my primary monitor. The 17" can run at the same resolution, but not the same frequencies, so it's currently running at lower resolutions till I fix that. But, the kicker loads in the smaller monitor. I don't know why.
Basically, I want the Kicker in the 19" monitor, but it's loading in the 17" one. I don't know why, and I've tried everything I could think (switching screens, cards, etc), but nothing worked. I know there's a way to do this, I'm just missing something, and well, it's bugging me :p.
Everything else in Xinerama is working great, just that one kicker problem. |

i remember that it can be setup within kde control center, desktop, panels, arrangement, screen, xinerama screen set to 1 (or 0?).
maybe part of my XF86Config helps:
Section "ServerLayout"
# The Identifier line must be present
# Each Screen line specifies a Screen section name, and optionally
# the relative position of other screens. The four names after
# primary screen name are the screens to the top, bottom, left and right
# of the primary screen. In this example, screen 2 is located to the
# right of screen 1.
# Each InputDevice line specifies an InputDevice section name and
# optionally some options to specify the way the device is to be
# used. Those options include "CorePointer", "CoreKeyboard" and
# "SendCoreEvents".
Identifier "Matrox PowerDesk configured."
Screen "Display 1" RightOf "Display 2"
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ this seems interesing
Screen "Display 2" 0 0
InputDevice "Mouse1" "CorePointer"
InputDevice "Keyboard1" "CoreKeyboard"
EndSection |
