I have a list of people I'd love to have on ignore. I'm sure it works vice versa... Is there a future for an ignore feature??

Notice the profile, www, aim, yahoo, etc icons at the bottom of each user post? Add an ignore button to ignore that user as to not have to see anything the user posts.. ever.

If you need an example, I have a site you can visit but you'd need to register as guests do not have this option.

Well then, then you could have said, in phpBB... or in the Gentoo Forums...

But that downright idiotic... That goes against the very concept of forums...

Forums are used to solve problems, what if you blocked out someone, that someone wouldn't be able to read your solution to a certain problem...

The forums would then soon become unreadable/useless...

I think the idea is that you can't read their answer to your problem, or their response to your comment as the case may be, not the other way round...

Our default answer: is it implemented in mainstream phpBB?
If it is and enough users demand it, we implement it.
If not, we don't.

Great logic. That's why you would have the CHOICE to not use it. And no, it doesn't go against the "very concept" of forums. I have no idea where you pull that out of....

Do you understand the concept of choice? No one would be forcing you to use it. I would sure make use of it. There a few useless clones on the board that do nothing but troll and do not help newcomers to gentoo. They spent all their time in OTW...

Please re-read the Guidelines thread in the News & Announcements forum. In the future, please do not make direct or indirect personal attacks.

*Raises hand*
I request the feature be implemented.

I'm pretty sure there's a mod for it.

As I said, mainstream phpBB, not in mods that we cannot easily upgrade from one phpBB version to another. You should go to their site to ask for the feature.
