After a recent-ish round of updates (during the summer), QGIS 2 that I had earlier installed no longer starts, but rather crashes whenever trying to launch it. gdb gives me a (rather long) backtrace that ends up in QMetaObject::normalizedSignature in libQtCore.so.4 (called from PyQt4 and then Python 2.7 in general). So I suspect that something is up in either Python or Qt that is causing this (since the last successful attempt to launch the program, both Qt and Python have been upgraded).

In sequence, I tried this to try and solve the issue: removing QGIS config directories; running QGIS with `--noplugins`; running QGIS from another user; remerging QGIS; upgrading QGIS version from 2.0.1 to 2.2.0; remerging PyQt4; remerging qtcore; remerging python:2.7. Nothing makes any difference, the error is always the same.

The backtrace is here: http://dpaste.com/3J27XFY
The emerge info of all the packages and the system can be found here: http://dpaste.com/15E5FGB
QGIS 2 is from the rion overlay, since the gentoo repository does not yet have version 2 (but it shouldn't matter, since like I mentioned it used to work just fine).

Any ideas about what could be causing this or how to debug the issue further?
