FYI, gstreamer in latest firefox is required for some HTML5 content, even if maybe for H.264/AAC and VP8 it might use some bundled libvpx/ffmpeg code or something.
Without the relevant plugins, it will prolly report "unsupported" for some HTML5 media queries. If I'm reading this right, then that might include 3GPP video, mp3 audio, mpeg1 containers and perhaps more; but some of those might be handled separately too outside gstreamer as an alternative.
