Code: | Calculating dependencies... done!
[ebuild N ] x11-drivers/xf86-video-modesetting-0.9.0
[blocks B ] x11-drivers/xf86-video-modesetting ("x11-drivers/xf86-video-modesetting" is blocking x11-base/xorg-server-1.17.1-r1) |
Code: | leviathan / # emerge -s xorg-server
* x11-base/xorg-server
Latest version available: 1.17.1-r1
Latest version installed: 1.17.1-r1 | Hmmmmm odd. xf86-video-modesetting cannot be installed with xorg-server? Code: | * Error: The above package list contains packages which cannot be
* installed at the same time on the same system.
(x11-drivers/xf86-video-modesetting-0.9.0:0/0::gentoo, ebuild scheduled for merge) pulled in by
xf86-video-modesetting | I tried emerge --deselect xf86-video-modesetting and it gave Code: | >>> No matching atoms found in "world" favorites file...
| So I'm pretty much stuck for what to do _________________ https://otw20.com/ OTW20 The new place for off the wall chat |

xf86-video-modesetting was moved back into the xserver 1.17.
It's possible, that the blocks in the ebuild were not quite correctly done or you're simply not emerging it correctly (for example you aren't updating xorg-drivers at the same time, which possibly could have triggered unmerge of xf86-video-modesetting). |

Masking >=1.17.1-r1 downgrades it to xorg-server-1.17.1:0 (or xorg-server-1.16.4-r2 if I mask 1.17) but that creates blocks with eselect-opengl.
Anyway, I think this is, as you said, an ebuild problem if it is trying to pull in xf86-video-modesetting when >1.17 already contains it - although I find it odd that this problem would not have come up before 1.17.1-r1 _________________ https://otw20.com/ OTW20 The new place for off the wall chat |
