I had enormous stability problems with chromium 36 series ("aw snaps" every 10 minutes, even on pages that had successfully loaded only moments before). Since I updated to the latest 37 series (currently 37.0.2062.20), they have completely disappeared. |

I really suffer from that problem since Chromium 35, and it is affecting many sites. 37 is no way better in this regard, at least for me. I have already found an upstream bugreport here:
https://code.google.com/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=387481
But like the other hundreds of open bugreports it does not seem to get any attention from the developers. Maybe it is time to go back to good old firefox. |

Emerge and eix are telling me that the last version of chromium is 36.0.1985.125... I did emerg --sync, but the last version is 36.0.1985.125... What I have to do to install the 37 version?
Thanks for your replies and helping me! |

First, manually run eix-update. If you just sync'ed portage, it's there. But it's keyworded as arch, so you need to add it to your package.keyword file in order to emerge it. So, edit /etc/portage/package.keyword and add
www-client/chromium |

Well, that report is for 36...which is exactly what I was seeing. I just know that I haven't had a single 'aw snap' since I upgraded to 37 a couple of days ago...used to get one every few minutes.
If you are viewing flash sites, make sure you are using the 37 version of www-plugins/chrome-binary-plugins and don't have the old adobe-flash packages enabled in chromium.
I'm running a full ~amd64 system too, so underlying libraries my be causing you problems if you are running a mixed arch/stable system. |

Afeter eix-update it continues to tell me the last version is 36...
Adding chromium to package.accept_keywords works only using emerge...
I'm compilating 37 version now.
Thanks platojones!! |

Well, I will update since my last post and say I am getting a few crashes again. Not as often as before, but I have started seeing them. So, I think Chromium still has unresolved issues. |
