remove text for toolbar icons @gnome apps

i am trying to get rid of this text under my toolbar icons in epiphany, but dont know how. i know epiphany uses the settings from gconf, but what if i dont use gnome, but epiphany? within gnome its all okay, the text is away. but in flux oder kde the text is there... think because the gconf daemon isnt loaded or something.

but... how can i load it? simply starting "gconfd-1" (or what its called) gives me no output and no change... any idea? :-)
