Every playback of a video stream in Firefox 30.0 leads to my 16G of memory gone in a couple of minutes. Is it something known?
Closing Firefox frees my memory back.
I'm on ~amd64, KDE envionment. Happy to provide more info.

Did you disable all your extensions? Did you try a clean user? Did you look if it's firefox itself or the flash plugin in top/htop?

Failing all that (and I assume you are using www-client/firefox, and not www-client/firefox-bin), double check that you didn't enable the "custom-cflags" USE flag. If so, disable it, recompile, and check that you can still reproduce the problem.

If the problem is still there then it's about time for a bug report ;)

Do you have swap and does it get killed by OoM when you keep it open.
It would be quite odd for memory leak to stop.
How much of that used memory is cached?

Tried with clean profile — still the same. custom-cflags disabled.
I don't have Flash installed — it's Firefox itself.
I have swap but once it hits swap the UI is so unresponsive that I kill it personally. Once it grows big there's little cache.
Thanks for the link, I'll look into it.
