Hey Guys,

I encountered some sort of mad girlfriend bug after updating fglrx to version 14.4_p1 and Xorg to 1.15 with my AMD Radeon HD 6970.

After booting the PC, everything works fine at first. But after a few minutes, rendering the terminal (I tried xterm and aterm) becomes very slow. (I can watch every line being displayed, one after another)
Everything else (like chrome or thunderbird) works perfectly well.

I can't find a line in the Xorg-log I could connect to this behavior or anything else, that would give me a hint where to begin to fix this.

I already tried rebuilding the kernel and the ati-drivers package a few times, but that did not fix it (normally, after upgrading the kernel, I have to do this, or everything is very slow).

Any help is appreciated. If you encountered this problem and could not fix it, please tell me as well, so I know, I am not the only one who has this problem.

Greets,
Tommy

I traced this back to chromium…
I have no clue how that can be, but if chromium is running, my terminal gets slow…

With my notebook (i7 with integrated graphics) the same setups works fine. Perhaps, I'll just switch back to firefox.

Infos/Discussions/Remarks on that topic are still welcome! :)

The currently installed chromium version is 35.0.1916.153

Hey,

That seems to fix that issue.

Thank you! :)
