libsdl-1.2.15-r2 fails when attempting to upgrade ffmpeg

I attempted to emerge ffmpeg and, its first dependency fails libsdl-1.2.15-r2

emerge --info '=media-libs/libsdl-1.2.15-r2::gentoo'

Your /usr/include/X11/Xlibint.h is incompatible with the requested =media-libs/libsdl-1.2.15-r2. For me, /usr/include/X11/Xlibint.h is provided by x11-libs/libX11. What is the output of emerge --info x11-libs/libX11?

This problem is due to the multilib migration.

Instead of downgrading to media-libs/libsdl-1.2.15-r2 update to -r5.

I saw a work around from a year ago.
Any ideas to throw my way to resolve it cleanly:

The above solve the problem for me . I got r5

I had the same problem, and upgrading to r5 also solved it. I made a note to the bug report from last year:

Hopefully we will have a version bump soon.
