|Hi, I am trying to get a Voip client for my Gentoo. I installed Empathy for it but it could not make a video or audio call. Then I installed Pidgin, but it fails to pick the correct audio and video devices. Based on a post I installed `genome-media` package so that Pidgin gets the right devices. But after this nothing changed in Pidgin but Empathy started picking my webcam and microphone but could not communicate with other Gmail user. And in both Empathy and Pidgin, text chat works fine the problem is only concerning voice and video.
The installed versions are:
1. To have empathy to successfully have video/audio call with other XMPP user (gtalk etc.)
2. To configure Pidgin, so that it lists video devices in voice/video settings menu and picks it properly.
3. if (2. is solved) then
To have Pidgin to successfully have video/audio call with other XMPP user (gtalk etc.)
