|
|
A few years ago I started working on a programming project. I set up CVSD to store my files for me. Then, in 2011, I upgraded something that cvs depended on and rebuilt cvs and I could not access my files in CVSD. Now I'm trying to work on the project again, but I can't tell if I can get to my files or not because CVSD keeps crashing.
This is what I use:
carter ourrpg # emerge -pv cvsd
These are the packages that would be merged, in order:
Calculating dependencies... done!
[ebuild R ] dev-vcs/cvsd-1.0.7 USE="tcpd" 190 kB
Total: 1 package (1 reinstall), Size of downloads: 190 kB
carter ourrpg # /etc/init.d/cvsd start
* Starting cvsd ... [ ok ]
carter ourrpg # /etc/init.d/cvsd status
* status: crashed
I think these are the relevant log entries:
Jul 22 12:42:52 carter cvsd[15606]: version 1.0.7 starting
Jul 22 12:42:52 carter cvsd[15606]: listening on 0.0.0.0 2401
Jul 22 12:42:52 carter cvsd[15606]: bind() failed: Address already in use
Jul 22 12:42:52 carter cvsd[15606]: version 1.0.7 bailing out
Jul 22 12:42:56 carter /etc/init.d/cvsd[15631]: status: crashed
Please help!

carter ~ # netstat -plnt | grep :2401
carter ~ #
Am I using the netstat command correctly? Because if I am, it didn't find anything running on the port that cvsd wants... |

I added a line
Listen 127.0.0.1 2401
to my config file, and now it works. I just can't connect to it. |
