Hi,

I have messed up a little with the graphics card configuration that eventually led to a state where the only resolutions I can use are 640x480 and 320x240.

I have searched the nvidia-drivers manual but could not find an option how to change to the default settings.

I'd be glad if someone could help me get my screen resolution back to normal.

/etc/X11/xorg.conf:
http://bpaste.net/show/316662/

lspci -kv:
http://bpaste.net/show/316670

/var/log/Xorg.0.log:
http://bpaste.net/show/316676/
/var/log/Xorg.1.log:
http://bpaste.net/show/316674/

Thanks !

I think your problem is with EDID, for example your log shows:
Code:

[   102.057] (II) NVIDIA(0): Virtual screen size determined to be 640 x 480
[   102.082] (WW) NVIDIA(0): Unable to get display device CRT-0's EDID; cannot compute DPI
[   102.082] (WW) NVIDIA(0):     from CRT-0's EDID.
[   102.082] (==) NVIDIA(0): DPI set to (75, 75); computed from built-in default

Try to set in xorg.conf screen resolution,
Option "metamodes" "CRT-0: 1920x1200 +0+0" or whatever
maybe
Code:

Section "Screen"
# Removed Option "metamodes" "CRT-0: 1920x1200 +0+0"
    Identifier     "Screen0"
    Device         "Videocard0"
    Monitor        "Monitor0"
    DefaultDepth    24
    Option         "UseEDID" "FALSE"
    Option         "UseEdidFreqs" "FALSE"
    Option         "AllowGLXWithComposite" "true"
    Option         "DPMS"
    #Option "NvAGP" "0"
    Option         "TwinView" "1"
    Option         "TwinViewXineramaInfoOrder" "CRT-0"
    Option         "metamodes" "CRT-0: 1600x1200_60 +0+0, CRT-1: 1600x1200_60 +1600+0"
    SubSection     "Display"
        Depth       24
    EndSubSection
EndSection

xorg.conf:
    HorizSync       28.0 - 33.0
    VertRefresh     43.0 - 72.0
I think that setting is not optimal, it might artificially limit the resolutions that your monitor can display. Either comment out these lines or enter the correct ones from your monitor's data sheet.
