From other websites it appears that Chromium 35 no longer supports NPAPI plugins like Java.

If this is not true, how does one install the Java plugin?

If this is true, could someone point me to a detailed description of how to install old ebuilds not in portage, e.g. chromium-34.0.1847.92?

Thanks for any pointers you can provide.

[SOLVED] megabaks, below, pointed to the old chromium ebuilds. I used this and the overlay instructions to create a local overlay. Then I linked /usr/portage/www-client/chromium/files in to the local overlay. Because of a mask error, I ended up having to emerge chromium-34.0.1847.92.ebuild but that worked. I wonder if we'll ever get a solution to Flash and Java plugins for Chromium 35. [/SOLVED]

Thanks. Is there a PPAPI solution for the Java plugin? If not, I'm limited to <35 Chromium and Firefox.
