The Task Manager in KDE 4.10 has the annoying behavior that when you roll the mouse over one of the icons on the task manager, every window but the one being rolled over is hidden. If the icon is one that is already hidden, all windows are hidden, except for perhaps a shadow.

I find this behavior disconcerting, especially when I move the mouse of the way.

I would like to know whether there is a setting that allows me to turn off this annoying behavior.

You can try "icon-only task manager" :wink:

switching to icontasks won't help here ;)

* run kcmshell4 kwincompositing
* go to "All effects"
* disable the "Highlight Window" effect
you probably also want to disable "Taskbar Thumbnails", if you don't like the huge tooltips.

Turning off Highlight Windows in SystemSettings fixed the problem. Thank you!

Last time I checked, it was kde-base/kdeplasma-addons (the latter contains Icon-Only Task Manager as well as other widgets).
