Hi dear all,

I've just fall back to gnome 2 keyring components,
just because the gnome 3 didn't work out of the box.

Already defined NetworkManager Wifi connections where in grey
and I was'nt requested for a keyring pwd, nor able to create
a new keyring for the matter.

The funny thing is while executing the fallback from LXDE
request for my keyring pwd popped up without any GUI restart.
Not even sure that fallback seahorse was compiled.

Maybe someone here succeed or knows how to?

Thks for your attention.

Temporaly markted as WONTFIX

I'm not sure what you mean by "wontfix" or rather did you just find a workaround, namely use gnome2 components?
I'd still say that it would be nice to use gnome3 components on LXDE/etc. just because gnome2 is no longer supported upstream... Or use MATE components perhaps...

Ugh... everything needs to be backwards compatible...

Hi,

The problem is that gnome 2 components are near to retirement, if not retired already.
See https://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic-t-989868-highlight-.html

I've already had to patch an ebuild to prevent from portage tree breakage.

Maybe your2nd set of proposal is the way to go, but I can't spend more than the minimal time on this issue.

Thanks for your attention, interest and support
