Does anybody know how to start rsh daemon when using systemd?

I migrated a machine from OpenRC to systemd and now I don't know how to start rsh daemon. It was working in OpenRC using /etc/init.d/xinetd start

Thanks!

First make sure you have >=sys-apps/xinetd-2.3.15-r1 as that is a version where a systemd unit has been introduced; after you have that version, use `systemctl enable xinetd` to enable the service (for reboots) and use `systemctl start xinetd` to start the service right now.

Thanks! I have sys-apps/xinetd-2.3.15-r1 installed and I did the enable and start as you told. But I am still unable to rsh into the machine. I try both from a remote machine and from the local machine. After rsh I do not get the prompt back.

Whilst searching earlier; I've seen there to be something like `systemctl enable rsh.socket` and `systemctl start rsh.socket` to open the connection, I however don't know how well that applies to Gentoo. If you can't get this working and the post installation messages don't give you instructions; then, I suggest you to file a bug at https://bugs.gentoo.org such that they can support what you are trying to do. Leave them a link to this thread for the details.
