Hello;
I am trying to make a simple panel out of FvwmButtons. I want to use it instead of FvwmTaskBar. Because there was too many old stuff in the web I asked for Help here.
I want to understand FvwmButton and the process it involves; So I devise a scenario.
Code:

+----------------------------------+---------+-------------+----------------+
|                                  |FvwmPager|             |                |
|                 FvwmIconMan      |         |      Xclock |Standalone Tray |
|                                  |         |             |                |
|                                  |         |             |                |
+----------------------------------+---------+-------------+----------------+

A. How to split FvwmButtons into this scheme?
B. How to Swallow this things into it?
C. How to manage The Space as it grows? (FvwmIconMan will grow by windows opened)
*D. How to tell the whole deal to sit at the bottom of the desktop (all the desktops) and other windows like (firefox and so on) to respect its place and no to go under or over it?
Thanks

If you don't came out with your code, no one single fvwm user will help you, or you will have to pay for it.

That said, you can find the man pages at the fvwm website. Look for the stable version, the unstable version is not maintained anymore and is stalled. It is other resources like the fvwm forum and wiki where you can get plenty of examples. fvwm-crystal and fvwm-themes also contain plenty of examples. About fvwm-buttons, https://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic.php?t=162177 contain all of what is needed to get started. The images are gone, but you can paste the code into a FvwmConsole to see how it look like. It is also the FVWM Beginners Guide at http://zensites.net/fvwm/guide/fvwmbuttons.html

A. How to split FvwmButtons into this scheme?

Use rows and columns => man FvwmButtons

Quote:

B. How to Swallow this things into it?

Code:
*alias_you_choose_for_FvwmButtons: ( Geometry, Swallow (options) prog, `Exec exec prog`)

That's the base ...
=> man FvwmButtons

C. How to manage The Space as it grows? (FvwmIconMan will grow by windows opened)

Hum ... you need to swallow fvwmIconMan with the max geometry declared, and configure FvwmIconMan to grow with opened windows

That's the geometry part of FvwmButtons: HxW+X+Y => height x width + place on X + place on Y
Ex : 1x1+10+10 => 1x1 box starting from +10% of screen on Height and +10% of screen on width.

Use -0 as height offset to start it from the bottom :
Code:
hxw+0-0

More hints on man FvwmButtons.
It takes some times to learn, but you'll be free to create anything soon.

Edit : corrected answer to misunderstood question.
