|
|
I have set my locale as following in /etc/locale.gen
Quote: | en_AU.UTF-8 UTF-8
en_AU ISO-8859-1 |
And eselect locale shows the following details:
Code: | eselect locale list
Available targets for the LANG variable:
[1] C
[2] en_AU
[3] en_AU.iso88591
[4] en_AU.utf8 *
[5] POSIX
[ ] (free form) |
When I start gvim I get an error that some fonts are missing. Selecting en_AU.iso88591 resolves this issue, but what can I do if I want to use en_AU.utf8 instead ?

Try installing media-fonts/terminus-font
basically the fonts on your system are missing the required typefaces. Terminus is quite compliant and is a good test to see if that is the issue _________________

Switching the locale to en_AU instead of en_AU.utf8 fixed the issue
