I have a pretty big problem which makes me very mad. Whenever I do emerge, I get this server where I can only grab things with like 8 kb/s and that is pretty slow. Is there a way of setting up a different mirror server to grab programs from?
The mirrorserver command upon installation of gentoo didn't work for me.

Hi,
You can edit /etc/make.conf by hand. I have this in there:
Code: | GENTOO_MIRRORS="http://ftp.snt.utwente.nl/pub/os/linux/gentoo http://ds.thn.htu.se/linux/gentoo"
