Hi, frome some days, I'm discovering the virtues of Xfce over the great but heavy kde. The only problem that I had on the migration was the imposibility of add new openvpn conections from nm-applet, somthing that did work on kde without problems.

The applet say that could be matter of plugins, however I belive that all are installed.

Code:

# eix -I nm-applet
[I] gnome-extra/nm-applet

After reading a lot of posts, i took the idea that could be a problem of comunication between dbus and these plugins, which must be merged with the gnome use flag enabled. I did it, but nothing changes.

Any help will be wellcome. Thanks in advance

(Sorry about my poor English)

From the packages you installed it looks like it should work.
I can also confirm that VPN does work - at least it does on my laptop that has only XFCE. Well, at least it works for the VPN of my university. Haven't tried others.

Perhaps you should just emerge those packages (including networkmanager) anew with the gtk useflag enabled.

Thank you very much for the help.

Re-emerging with the gtk use variable enabled did solve the issue
