|
|
I've installed syslog-ng, postfix, dovecot and dspam. For some reason nothing show up in /var/log/mail.
Some entries show up in /var/log/messages, so I guess the services communicate with syslog. Where do I start to debug the mail facility?

Hi,
check your syslog-ng.conf file.
To support /var/log/mail there should be
a destination statement pointing to /var/log/mail
a filter statement to select all mail facility messages
a log statement utilizing both.
See the /var/log/warnings definitions for an example.
See man master and master.cf for how to set the facility for postfix.
Best Regards,
