Hallo Leute,

bei mir macht sich langsam die Notwendigkeit eines WLAN-Netzes bemerkbar.
Da ich bei mir zu Hause einen Router mit Gentoo betreibe, der leider keinen PLatz für eine PCI(e)-WLAN-Karte bietet (und ich auch keinen integrierten DSL/WLAN/Ethernet Modemrouter verwenden möchte), bleibt nur die Lösung eines WLAN USB-Sticks. Dieser sollte jedoch bestimmten Kriterien erfüllen können, die da wären:
  • Sollte mindestens eine USB2 Schnittstelle haben
  • Sollte mindestens IEEE 802.11a/b/g/n unterstützen, idealerweise auch noch IEEE 802.11ac (wobei das vermutlich USB3 erfordern würde)
  • muß WPA2 können
  • muß als AccessPoint einrichtbar sein (wird sein Hauptzweck sein)
  • Muß einen opensource Treiber haben. Idealerweise bereits in kernel-3.12.x enthalten (momentaner Kernel mit dem mein Router läuft)
  • Eine gute Antenne wäre prima, ist aber kein Muß

Falls jemand so einen Stick kennt oder weiß wo man sich da am besten darüber informieren kann, bin ich über jeden Hinweis dankbar :)

Hi,

in der aktuellen Ausgabe von freiesMagazin 03/2014 ist ein Artikel über "WLAN-AP mit dem Raspberry Pi".

Der Autor verwendet dazu folgenden Stick TP-Link TL-WN722N, USB 2.0 erfolgreich.

Vielleicht ist das auch was für dich.

Hallo,

das ist ein sehr interessanter Artikel.
Der USB-Stick ist nichtmal annähernd so teuer wie ich mir vorgestellt hatte, daher habe ich ihn einfach mal bestellt, da keine schmerzvolle Investition für den Fall daß der Stick meinen Anforderungen nicht genügen sollte.

Hat echt prima funktioniert.

Der Stick läuft gut, hostapd tut wie es soll, und alle WLAN-Clients können ins Internet. Vielen Dank nochmal für den Tip :)
