First, this old (unanswered) posting describes my problem pretty succinctly:
https://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic-t-932834-highlight-wake+twice.html
In summary: S3 suspend->WOL->S3 suspend and the machine wakes back up on its own after a short period of time. Suspending a second time and it stays asleep. When woken up with the power button, all is normal (over as many sleep->wake cycles as you wish).
I'm Running MSI H87-G43 with a i7-4770 CPU (latest CPU microcode, latest BIOS). I boot in UEFI mode using the kernel EFI Stub (no bootloader)
Kernel is stable gentoo-sources (3.10.25 at time of writing), although I've tried 3.13.2 to no avail.
Most of the system is stable with the exception of a few applications
I run KDE, but LXDE exhibits the same behaviour (actually, turning off X and performing suspend with pm-suspend still exhibits the problem)
I've contacted MSI and their vanilla solution was "try reflashing the BIOS". Needless to say it didn't help. Windows 7 does not exhibit this behaviour so they don't care. _________________ Dave Flogeras |
