I need to use the xf86-video-omapfb drivers for my Pandaboard but they don't seem to provide video resizing. Is there any way to somehow play a video back at fullscreen anyway?

I never used that driver so I can't be sure. But vlc has a "swscale" USE flag, and it can play about every format even in framebuffer. It might worth a shot.

Thanks, that sounds perfect but it looks like I already have USE=swscale. I'll do some digging to see if I can figure out why it isn't working.

In my experience video drivers can influence, as can other factors. You might have some luck using fb if your device supports that. Else, I would also to output to the sdl intermediary backend instead of xv or opengl. It's a rather complex thing, but having as many options also means that there's almost always a way.

Failing that I would ask into the mplayer mailing list. They allways were very helpful for me in the past, and they know what they are doing. I have no experience with the vlc mailings, but surely they are equally helpful.

I got it working in mplayer and it works great except the performance is bad. sdl also works but at a much lower framerate.
