I don't think there is any part of it I have any interest in. Yourselves?

Well, I do care about winter sports, especially curling.

So far I have watched 0 minutes of this mess.

Thank you, just and merciful universe that I had to work late yesterday and fell into my bed as soon as I got home.

i like winter sports too, but don't really have a tv. is there an online way to watch?

I prefer winter to summer. I didn't see much of the last summer even though I lived in the host city.

Usually I do like the winter olympics, but work this time round is pure chaos atm so I don't even have a chance to have a bbc tab open...
That said it is quite entertaining to follow all the failures,
Loads of countries/reporters were calling out that the UK would fail at their olympics and wouldn't be ready on time & London was.
Russia really are not (and have spent a fortune), Brazil do not seem ready for this years world cup nor the Summer Olympics in 2016

I found Curling to be strangely addictive in the last Winter Olympics. I guess it's because it's one of the few Winter Olympic games where teams are directly competing against each other head-to-head instead of throwing everyone in a ring and it's every wo/man for themself. Plus, they're putting some thought into their actions as well as showing how skillful they are at the game (RUB THE ICE! RUB IT HARD! SHOW YOUR RUBBING SKILLS! STOP! OKAY, RUB MORE!)

I also like long ski jumping for the same reason I'll occasionally tune in to NASCAR; I want to see someone crash.

Other than that, not a whole lot of interest. I used to like ice ski dancing, but that was more for puberty reasons.

Curling is just shuffleboard on ice. And shuffleboard is what octogenarians play on cruise ships.

I like female figure skating 8)

I like hockey, so I'll catch a few games of that, but otherwise, I don't pay any attention to the television anyway. If it's on, then my wife is watching it.

I think it's all entertaining, but do I care? Not really. Then again, does anybody really care about the Summer Olympics either? Maybe people care about their favorite sports.

Some people care about the medal count. The big countries always compare dick size in that regard, and little-ass countries try to pool their numbers as "Europe" to see if they can compare (without bothering to mention that if Europe were a country, which it obviously is not, they'd have only about 2% as many people competing). Poor, chaotic, clusterfucking Europe.

I thought their opening ceremony was nice. It was rather tasteless, or should I say, "intended for aesthetics other than mine", but they surely must have spent a lot on it. Even then, though, they didn't get it right -- like when the giant snowflakes morphed into the five Olympic rings, except only four of them made it and one stayed a snowflake.

I was hoping Putin would actually parachute in from a helicopter, for real.

You do realize, as per the Olympic logo, the ring that did not grow represents the Americas

The other thing that was funny was the snowflake ladies they had as sign-holders to guide each team out. Instead of signs, they had some plexiglass cylinder around them. They had some giant tiara on their heads. They were all attractive and did a good job, but when Russia's team came out, that snowflake lady was a little hotter than the other ones, and was swinging her hips and grinning like she was modeling a bathing suit in front of a troop of boy scouts. Somebody orchestrated that. It wasn't by accident. It sort of reeked of "no class" like the sticky residue on the floor of the VIP lounge at cheesy night club. Russia apparently has a Jersey Shore level of sophistication.

No ring represents any particular region or country. However, given that the missing ring would be the red one, I would say the fates were mocking the no longer existing U.S.S.R.
