Quote:
Gregoire parked the truck in the center divider in a way that is meant to protect victims as they were being loaded inside an ambulance. Chula Vista Fire Chief Dave Hanneman told the Tribune, "Our firefighters are trained to use the engine to protect the scene. Our No. 1 priority is the safety of our firefighters and patients."
But a CHP officer who responded to the scene later wasn't happy with the way that the truck was parked, and he asked Gregoire to move it. Gregoire refused and went back to helping the crash victims, a local CBS affiliate reported. The dispute escalated quickly, and Hanneman said the CHP officer threatened to arrest Gregoire: "The officer said, 'No, you need to move now or you'll be arrested.'"

Fire the officer, never let him in a position of authority again.

Marginally more productive than pissing into the wind.

By the way how's the 300 blk out. Shot it yet? Carbine length gas system it looked like. What twist? I spoke with a tech at Sierra for a while about their posted loads. I was really liking the Noveske upper but it is a pistol length gas system and the Sierra loads were developed for the carbine length system. Maybe the 16" Remington 700 or a CMMG upper. I've wanted a 300 whisper for at least 20 years. Would be a lot of fun with cast bullets. Not yet though.

It seems that for anything shorter than 16", you want a pistol-length gas system. Some vendors even use pistol-length tubes in their 16" barrels. A carbine-length system in something shorter than 16" will likely result in subsonic loads not cycling the action. In fact, some vendors design their systems such that you have to fire subsonic rounds with a suppressor in order to make it cycle. I don't think mine has this requirement. It's dead in the water for home defense if it does. I haven't fired it yet. It has a 1:8 twist.
