Hi all
So in the hopes of not being like, the metaphorical arch user who's been on for years but never heard of aur, I was curious what are peoples favorite tools and programs that are commonly used but perhaps not referenced in the various wiki's and manuals? |

Let the fun begin:
screen - allows you to run several apps in a single terminal, detach session, logout (leaving all jobs started inside screen running), go to another terminal, attachexisting session and carry on from different location. Also, saves the day if your ssh session fails while you're running emerge -e world on remote machine . |

gentoo specific; genlop, eix, equery.
depending on your needs, you might want to look at: tmux, ack, zsh, vim, xmonad. |
