And do not forget Jesus that drove the merchants from the temple.

Jesus drove the money-changers from the temple. But, I can understand why Communists would re-write it your way.

I'm happy for you that you are comfortable with your padded room reality. Marxism is Marxism, and once the dick is in the ass an inch, it has a tendency end up deeper.

marx was an economist and philosopher. He was not a politician or a leader. Marxism may be Marxism, but it is not bolshevism, Stalinism, or Maoism.

Furthermore, I am not marxist.

Quibbling is quibbling. Bolshevism, Stalinism and Maoism are all Marxist to a great degree. The essence of the philosophy is what gave rise to these variations on the theme; they are all rooted in the moral concepts that the ends justify the means, that the truth (and minds) are what you make them, that the individual is subordinate to the collective, and that violent revolution is justified and necessary. Most of the post-Marx philosophies advocate 'continuous revolution' as a justification for ongoing violence against all who would resist the will of the state. It's just a matter of degrees.

Even watered-down socialism such as we see in West is Marxist, if in watered-down ways. Nowhere is the better comparison and contrast to illustrate this than the incredible authoritarian shift that has taken place under Obama (propaganda, secrecy, information control, turning the security apparatus on internal political enemies, assassinations, constant double-speak, increasing the state's monopoly on the use of force, expansion of the state's ability to use force against the people, Big Brother....).

Go read Marx.

Marx is obviously the father of socialism and communism. doesn't mean all the versions are the same, and certainly doesn't mean I am one of them. In my advanced age I've pretty much become a capitalist. It makes me sick inside.

You go read Marx; I got it right, and I never said they were all the same, merely that they are all based on Marxism. You may growing up, but you still haven't overcome your deeply-seeded indoctrination. It seems like you engage in critical thinking, but then throw it all out the window and go back to conditioned responses the next time you encounter the same information.

It's always a dominator vs individual, regardless of the spin. Hippy people may read Marx and have an orgie, russians read it and invent opression scheme that makes nazism bleak in comparison. Same thing with market economy. Hippies ponder about capitalism and you get farmers market. Ego dominators read the same and implement predatory corporatism.

Go figure.

Before the French and Germans came along as bastardized it, the underlying ideal was one of democratic community as free, mutually-respecting individuals. Somehow they managed to distort that into dehumanizing collectivist authoritarianism brought about and sustained at any cost through inconceivable violence.

Is it time for yet another UN Peacekeeping force in Europe? Need peacekeepers in Kosovo. Need peacekeepers in Cyprus. Now what about Ukraine? And how long before you euros try to suck the US into yet another of your wars against each other?

They are a bunch of selfish, tribalistic animals, but have no end of disparaging advice for us about how we're doing it wrong.

Let me guess: your Führer Opoohbah gave a speech on Goebbels' Nazi Network (GNN)?

Is that the best you can come up with?

Pretty poor from someone living in a country that just recently was a fascist dictatorship.

I'd be interested to hear from some americans what they would class their country as. Maybe this is one of the problems with electing a president instead of the head of the state being the leader of the political party that gains power..?

By the way, Putin's regime started broadcasting propaganda in the Ukraine today that portrays the U.S. as fascist and links it with the Nazis (along with Germany-led Europe, of course).

Well... you know...
- rampant propaganda ... check!
- illegal surveillance ... check
- profiling ... check
- liars in government ... duh, check
- transfer of wealth to the elite ... check
- police protecting regime and not citizenry ... check

He's not that far off, maybe using words Nazis is wrong, it's something else in brewing.

Seriously, I was a year out of high school when the generalissimo finally died. The standing joke on Saturday Night Live was Chevy Chase doing the news, and confirming Franco was still dead.

Yeah, but Russia never advertised that it was "land of the free, home of the brave". It's Russia.
On the other hand, americans act as if they were free and knew what the fuck was up, when one of the two is obviously missing. :)

I had more freedom in Tokyo than I have in Hawai'i.

In any case, the Ukraine certainly does not need US Americans or any of their puppets who divide, conquer and rape that country.
Maybe The People in the USA should denazify their own government and their own society (which elected that regime) before they share their unqualified advice with the rest of the world.
