Hi Guys,

i made a fresh install, nothing fancy, no overlays etc.

If I open lxterminal (0.1.11) it looks distorted... it has no openbox decorations. Compiz is not installed. Xorg is using vesa driver.
other programs seem fine. Since iam not familiar with X etc. where should I start looking for errors? If I run lxterminal from xterm, no errors are beeing output

I hope it ok to share the flickr link here

On my qemu it looks exacly the same (while another copy of this system image running on real hardware looks fine). Honestly I didn't even bother with fixing it and just replaced with one of many other terminals hanging from portage tree

Hey hey,

same for me, only that I use Fluxbox.

Also no FB-Decos.

Would be really glad, if someone could point me in the right direction,on how to fix this.

Cheers

Just tried lxterminal and it rendered here fine with similar settings in a gnome2 environment.

Sounds and looks like subpixel order rendering and hinting issues to me. I don't keep up with all the changes xorg keeps doing. I think .Xresources/.Xdefaults was eliminated awhile back, otherwise you could just put the Xft. settings there. Instead you'll probably have to use xrdb.

E.g., see https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?pid=878986#p878986
