[EDIT]
Solved this by editing the udev configuration file for the network manager and change some permissions. Thanks anyway
[/EDIT]
Hi, I switched over to Gentoo on Thursday and I like the freedom it offers me.
However I have the following problem: I'm using the NetworkManager, a KDE desktop and kde-misc/networkmanagement as the GUI (Applet) for the NetworkManager. Everything works fine as long as I am root, but when I log in as a normal user and start an X session with KDE, the Applet says that the NetworkManager isn't running, but I've configured my system to start the NetworkManager on boot and I also checked as root on tty2 and it was running. The user is also in the plugdev group.

What am I doing wrong?

I just tried to use NetworkManager using the nmcli command. As root it of course works fine again, but as a normal user it says the following:
** (process:6064): WARNING **: Could not initialize NMClient /org/freedesktop/NetworkManager: Rejected send message, 2 matched rules; type="method_call", sender=":1.40" (uid=1000 pid=6064 comm="nmcli d ") interface="org.freedesktop.DBus.Properties" member="GetAll" error name="(unset)" requested_reply="0" destination="org.freedesktop.NetworkManager" (uid=0 pid=1793 comm="/usr/sbin/NetworkManager --pid-file /run/NetworkMa")

Maybe this helps to solve my problem.
