Hello,

Since upgrading to Gnome3 + systemd I experience heavy cpu load on all 4 cores. On idle desktop after login I experience ~25% load, working with firefox raises up to 100% load. htop shows 4 gnome-shell processes which are heating up.
I checked xfce as well as old init-system:

systemd + gnome3 => NOT OK
systemd + xfce => OK
init + gnome3 => OK
init + xfce => OK

Obviously there is some connection with systemd and gnome3

Any ideas?

Hello,

After playing around woth VirtualBox for a while I noticed, that the high cpu load is only present when logged in as non-root user. Root himself had normal system behaviour. From there it were only minutes to playing around with access rights and groups.

Membership if group video was missing. After adding I got perfect cpu load, same trick worked on my pc as well.

Question is, why this did not cause any problems until upgrading to systemd based gnome3.8?

Thanks anyway,
porgy
