I am trying to get a plymouth splash using an initramfs created by genkernel-next. However, at early boot I only have a basic text console. How can I get genkernel-next to load my graphics driver (radeon) at early boot? |

I don't remember and think that genkernel{,-next} support that knid of fine grained module loading...
mkinitramfs-ll support by default a default kernel module group (modules are loaded as early as possible.)
ANd there is already a kms module group in the boot group that one can use and/or modify to suit one needs.
Now, there is no plymouth hook nor support for plymouth... However, one can write one very easily, just check out zfs/zram hooks to see example.
(It does support splash.)
(And follow my sig for more info.) _________________ home/:mkinitramfs-ll/:supervision/:e-gtk-theme/:overlay/ |
