What package?
There are certain packages that are horrible...
I've always had swap, even for VMs... _________________ Intel Core i7 2700K/Radeon R7 250/24GB DDR3/256GB SSD

Until you're setting up systems with obscene amounts of RAM, you should always set up a swap partition.

That surprises me a bit, since I've often built Gentoo on 512M systems without
noticeable use of swap - OTOH, I haven't tried in the last year or so. Certainly
I had a swap partition, but I can't recall more than a few MB ever being used.
