Okay, so when I was on an HDD and KDE took forever to start I didn't really notice this problem, but now that I'm on an SSD and everything loads in a couple seconds, it's suddenly demanding attention. NetworkManager doesn't come up very quickly. Actually it doesn't come up for a long time after login. According to my rc.log, NetworkManager is waiting for ulogd (which doesn't make much sense to me). Actually, there's a lot of services waiting for ulogd: besides shorewall and NetworkManager, there's tcsd, local, and fcron at least.
Apparently ulogd is waiting on shorewall-init, which, according to /etc/init.d/shorewall-init, is waiting for ulogd? Anyone know either what caused all this or what fixes it? |
