Hello! I just did a fresh install of Gentoo, and decided to give ROX a shot, but I can't seem to figure out how to get it to work with startx. I tried using:

Code:
echo "exec ROX-session" > ~/.xinitrc

Then used nano to make it lower case when that didn't work. Any ideas?

Thanks!

UPDATE: I just tried:

Code:
exec startrox

And:

Code:
exec startROX

But that didn't help.

Also:

Code:
ROX-Filer

Isn't write.

UPDATE: It would seem I'm supposed to use:

Code:
rox -p Default -b Default

But I keep getting this:

Code:
ERROR from /use/lib64/rox/ROX-Filer/AppRun:
I cannot find an executable binary.
Trying to compile...

Any ideas?

There is a bug with the current ebuild (rox-base/rox-2.10):

https://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=464246

You will be able to run rox if you apply the suggested patch to the current ebuild.

Cheers!

Edit: You could also install rox-2.11: https://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=500502

Cheers!
