I'm selling the NATO 5.56 upper receiver in favor of one chambered in 300 AAC Blackout. For those of you who don't know, you essentially take a 5.56 casing, cut it at the neck, and put a 7.62 slug in it. The idea is to trade long range accuracy for short range stopping power. Now how you want to balance range vs. stopping power is up to you. You can load slugs anywhere from 110 to 220 grains. The lighter slugs are supersonic and have more range. The heavier slugs are subsonic and have more close range stopping power. You don't need to change buffer springs for this nor do you need to use different powders. Just change the magazine.

It's a tad weaker out of the barrel than the AK-47, but maintains its energy over distance, exceeding the AK at 300 yards.

EDIT: It uses 100% the same parts as a 5.56 AR-15 except for the barrel.

Because I obviously kill children for owning one of these things.

The G3 was designed for medium to long range engagements. As such, it's more comparable to the AR-10 than the AR-15. They take the same cartridge, in fact.

That's not what I'm after. Not with this.

You're just one step closer to getting an AK47.

If bullets were free, that would be such an amazing weapon to own. With .50 cal rounds costing about $5 per (yes, I know they use a 7.62, but still...), the amount of money required to properly enjoy that weapon is beyond my wallet.

Meanwhile, one salvo of artillery will kill everything standing in a football field sized area, and wound most things in a stadium-sized area.

By some fool on the Internet evaluating guns by their ability to cut down trees, rather than their intended purposes.

I've always wanted a Red Ryder carbine-action, two hundred shot Range Model air rifle with a compass in the stock and this thing which tells time.

Because we're all dead. The world ended yesterday. Haven't you noticed? You are no longer alive, you are just perpetuating the illusion of life in a dream-like fugue state.
