I have a logical volume that spans 2 partitions /dev/sda2 and /dev/sdc1. When I keep my phone in the USB port to charge and then reboot, LVM will fail to start, because it can't find /dev/sda2:
Code:
Couldn't find device with uuid 'sBB0N0-wJkW-ishf-oQ3U-Sm5K-fPzJ-1CWGFS'

I can repair the configuration with these commands
Code:
pvcreate --uuid "sBB0N0-wJkW-ishf-oQ3U-Sm5K-fPzJ-1CWGFS" --restorefile /etc/lvm/archive/vg_00003-23676825.vg /dev/sda2
vgcfgrestore -f /etc/lvm/archive/vg_00003-23676825.vg vg
lvextend -L+230G /dev/vg/disk /dev/sda2
/etc/init.d/lvm restart
mount /mnt/disk

This will work until I connect my phone or a USB drive during booting and it will break again. It is always fixable with the above commands. How come the UUID is changed after inserting something into the USB port?
