Hi,
I've setup my bluetooth card following https://wiki.gentoo.org/wiki/Bluetooth and the more specific http://wireless.kernel.org/en/users/Drivers/ath3k#AR3012_over_USB. However, I can't get it working. In particular, I found a strange behaviour: after a *Gentoo* reboot (the computer has a dualboot with Windows 7), the card is not detected anymore. Here is my dmesg: http://pastebin.com/6MjCdWUS (notice that after a reboot, the relevant lines about the 'bluetoooth usb host controller'/ath3k,btusb probes are not present)
The computer is an Asus A55DR laptop. I've checked possible hardware/bios switches and they're ok. Thanks for the help :) |

Hello,
if you dont want an other operating system then the one your booting in configure you hardware, have cold shutdowns with poweroff. The first idea I have is to unplug the cable from the sector and the battery for a couple of minutes and boot Gentoo only from the battery and see if the Bluetooth device is detected.
You can try to have a cold boot in a live-cd/dvd/usb and see if the Blutooth device is seen.

I concluded the card is faulty (it doesn't work on Windows too..) |
