|

Hello,
I upgraded my video card to a 780 Ti, that was released recently. Now X fails to start and gentoo runs with console only.
re-emerging the drivers has not done any good.
nvidia-xconfig does not solve the problem ether.
My guess is, that the current gentoo-nvidia-driver simply does not support the 780 Ti yet.
On my Windows-System, that I keep around for gaming purposes, the driver version ist 331.something, while under gentoo it is 325.something.
Am I correct or may the problem lie elsewhere?

You may check nvidia site yourself if you find a newer binary version. Also please read the linux release note of nvidia drivers on nvidia homepage and check if your card is supported ... Also check gentoo-bugzilla if there is a new version ... |

It seems nvidia has not yet released drivers for linux.
EDIT:
Solved, today's driver update fixed the problem. |
