I've installed Gentoo on my PC through a LiveCD.I use "genkernel all" to make the kernel-3.12.3-gentoo.After rebooting I got kernel pacnic which said:
Quote:

usb 1-1.2:new low-speed USB device number 4 using ehci-pci
!! Please file a bug report with this message
Kernel panic - not syncing:Attempted to kill init! exitcode=0x00000100

Here is what I got from a chroot environment via Debian:
Quote:

emerge --info
!!! It seems that /proc is not mounted. You have been warned.

Unfortunately we'll need more information. However it does seem like you're missing disk drivers, filesystem drivers, or specified wrong root, but more lines from above is needed.

It seems that syslog is not working yet and there is no log file.I can only take a picture of the startup message.I post it here:

It looks like you're using initramfs with genkernel. Assuming that genkernel did the right thing and put in all the right drivers, the current suspect is your bootloader: what did you specify as the boot loader options?

I am using grub2 and it's installed under the Debian system I've mentioned above. Here is the part I copy from /boot/grub/grub.cfg:
Quote:
menuentry 'Gentoo Linux' {
load_video
insmod gzio
insmod part_msdos
insmod ext2
set root='hd0,msdos10'
echo 'Loading Linux x86-3.12.3-gentoo ...'
linux /boot/kernel-genkernel-x86-3.12.3-gentoo root=UUID=bfaca9e5-4804-431b-bb4c-25e920812908 ro vga=791 malloc=256M
echo 'Loading initial ramdisk ...'
initrd /boot/initramfs-genkernel-x86-3.12.3-gentoo
}

I used this file and genkernel before and never got anything wrong.
Anyway,I'm trying another kernel today and I'll let you know when I've got it done! Thanks!

I suppose you're glad to know that I upgrade to kernel-3.12.4 and problem is gone! I still have no clue why this happened but may be I not going to dig it anymore unless anyone think it necessary. Let me know if you want more information. Thank you for your help anyway!
