|I thought I give NetworkManager a try on my desktop to ease connecting to OpenVPNs. However, I appear to be unable to connect to the OpenVPN plugin: A connection has been configured via KDE "System Settings" but it does not show up on the KDE Plasma widget and if I choose to edit the configuration, it takes a moment and I get the DBus error message "Did not receive a reply."
nm-tool doesn't list the VPN connection either, only eth0. I'm almost sure I fixed that on my notebook a while ago but I can't remember what I did. I already tried to copy the definitions for user root to my regular username in /etc/dbus-1/system.d/org.freedesktop.NetworkManager.conf and /etc/dbus-1/system.d/nm-openvpn-service.conf and called /etc/init.d/dbus reload (also tried relogging and rebooting) but without any change.
What did I miss?
