Yamagi Quake 2 and multiple monitors

I have a dual monitor setup and everything works great, apart from my Yamagi Quake 2. It used to work great way-back when I had a single screen, but now the image is stretched across the two screens, making things unplayable.

Is there some way to configure Quake 2 to only use a single screen?

ANSWER: turns out that setting

export SDL_VIDEO_FULLSCREEN_HEAD=0

before turning on Quake 2 solves the problem.
