I have just did a fresh install of gentoo, running fluxbox with slim. After giving up on Gnome and Debian, I thought I'd come back to the basics. I am sure I am missing something. I cant get the menu to show any transparency or xfce-terminal, terminator, eterm, xterm.... But aterm -tr works every time... I'm getting old and my eyes are tired. I'd like to use xfce-terminal or terminator. I'd like to quit tossing packages on the box hopping I fix it. Please any ideas?

fluxbox is not a compositing WM. I am using awesome-wm, and for composiing I am running compton. Works quite well :)
