|
|
I'm having trouble figuring out if I should have VIDEO_CARDS="intel i965" or "intel i915". My Dell XPS 13 is a Sandy Bridge which should mean i965 according to this chart:
http://wiki.gentoo.org/wiki/Intel#Feature_support
but there is conflicting info online about this laptop. Does anyone know how to find out which is correct? |

I just use "intel", seems to work fine even for Wine... _________________ Intel Core i7 2700K/Radeon R7 250/24GB DDR3/256GB SSD

"intel" works fine but am I missing out on features or performance that way? |

I don't think you're missing much with just setting as "intel" ... it will still autodetect properly.
I am running Wine apps with opengl/d3d and it seems to draw fast enough... it's not horribly bad. I don't know what applications you're planning to run on it? _________________ Intel Core i7 2700K/Radeon R7 250/24GB DDR3/256GB SSD
