Hello every one I keep getting this every time I emerge something.
Code: |
/etc/portage/make.profile is not a symlink and will probably prevent most merges.
!!! It should point into a profile within /usr/portage/profiles/
!!! (You can safely ignore this message when syncing. It's harmless.)

I am using Pentoo profile I installed my entire system using this profile and had no problem till now.Eselect has my profile selected , the as-trick is next to the right profile. If I select a gentoo profile the message goes away. I have no idea why this just started happen. thanks guys

After you select pentoo profile using eselect.
ls -al /etc/portage/make.profile
etc-update ran recently?
try changing the profile manually
# rm /etc/portage/make.profile
# cd /etc/portage
# ln -s ../../usr/portage/profiles/<selected profile> make.profile |

That would have been my next suggestion, I just wanted to see where the error was actually occurring, and more importantly why. |
