using the latest digikam under KDE if I add more than 50 folders for it to index, it seems to stall on making the thumbnails, and then crashes, it makes no difference if i use mysql, mariadb or sqlite.

I have tested this on 2 different systems, and both show the same symptoms, I tried debian 7, which uses digikam 2.6 and it works fine on the same folders.

I have looked on gentoo bugs site, and on digikam and I haven't been able to find anything

edit:
Solved this issue by putting Windows back on the laptop and using ACDSee

Yesterday, after upgrading to 4.11.2 from 4.11.1, I ran into this: https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=323888

If you're runnig out auf memory, it could be related.

if its eating 8G of memory and all the swap then there is an issue somewhere, also looking at that link I am not using face recognition, so not sure that would apply
